#GuestPost Writing from Corsets to Bustiers by Christina McKnight

Thank you for having me on your blog, Rachelle!

One of the first questions I’m asked is the story behind the name of my blog, ‘Writing from Corsets to Bustiers…Romance so Good, it’s Hard to Breathe!’. As a multi-genre writing author, it was important that I discover a name that captured the true and complete essence of my writing. With the help of a friend, Urban Fantasy author Lauren Stewart, we crafted the perfect blog name.

Corsets refer to my love of all things historical! After devouring the Little House on the Prairie books in my early teens I moved onto Historical Romances, pilfered from my mom’s bookshelf. I read everything from Stephanie Laurens to Amanda Quick to Christina Dodd to Catherine Coulter. I love the mystery and intrigue infused into novels written by Quick and Coulter…and the character depth and development always present in Laurens’ and Dodd’s writing. My first Historical Romance, Shunned No More, A Lady Forsaken Book 1 (Scheduled to hit shelves in May 2013), incorporates these key elements that originally drew me to the genre.

Bustiers better describes my Urban Fantasy series, The Oneiroi. Only In Her Dreams, The Oneiroi Book 1 (Released August 2012) and Only In Her Nightmares, The Oneiroi Book 2 (Scheduled for release in August 2013) are centered around the Greek Demigods of Dreams and set in current times. I’ve long enjoyed reading books by JR Ward and Lara Adrian, who integrate elements of fantasy and paranormal into modern-day society.

Recently, I started plotting a new series that will combine these two genres. My beloved Greek Gods will be thrown into Regency Era England…and havoc, drama and sexiness will ensue! Watch my website for more updates on this currently untitled series.

Thank you for having me, Rachelle!
