The Final Descendants And The Well Of Wishes Lost (Book 1)

At fourteen, Bryze Brooks has no idea about her extraordinary ancestors. After her father's death, she had grown up far away from the family manor on Ratclif Circle and the secrets it held within its walls. But everything changes when a surprise phone call leads Bryze back to the house where she comes face to face with her astonishing past. Once there, she begins to discover that all is not what it seems. Fantastic tales begin to intertwine with her reality when a magic arbor leads her into a world she never even dreamed existed. From mesmerizing visits at enchanted Oak Cottage, to terrifying encounters with villainous beasts of the dark, Bryze finds herself on the adventure of a lifetime as she begins to understand her royal responsibilities and what it means to be among the final descendants.

From the Author:
When the idea for this project first came to me, it was incredibly vague...I knew it would be a series featuring a young girl...I knew I wanted there to be magic and mystery...but I really didn't know much else. I set the idea aside for a while, and then, one day, out of the blue the story just hit me! I was going to take my all-time favorite fairy tale and put a brand new spin on it. In my version, the princess wouldn't need saving, she would be the hero!

It's my hope, that readers not only enjoy the adventure Bryze takes them on, but that they also find her relatable and because of that remember that it's good to be different and that if you don't feel like you fit in, it may just mean that you haven't found where you belong yet.

Something Different:
A little known detail about the book is that I incorporated many characters from my own life into it. It started small...I added my horse (okay, that doesn't sound so small)...anyway, my mare became a Unicorn. Then, I added my mother's dog, who became a wolf. I had already blended my own two dogs together to create Ava, Bryze's furry best friend, so, a wolf seemed like a natural choice. My five year old caught on to what I was doing and decided she needed to be in the story as well. And she didn't want to be just anybody, no, she wanted to be a fairy and she wanted to save the day. It took some creative thinking on my part... but I made it happen ;-)
