Title: Christmas Hope
Author: Leslie Lynch
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
Becca Sweet and Sam Bledsoe are two unlikely lovers. Both of them are suffering and traumatized by life experiences. But when Becca turns up pregnant at her sister's door, begging for a room only to be turned away, Sam comes to her rescue.
Sam, however is hiding from scars, both physical and emotional, and all he wants to do is to be left alone. But when his snow removal business becomes overwhelming, and Becca jumps to help him, a friendship develops that leads to more.
This story was very emotional and heart tugging. I could tell that both Becca and Sam were afraid of opening their hearts up to get hurt. However, they each saw beneath the surface and learned that a large part of companionship is being together, working side by side, and not as much yakking and chatting about superficial things.
Their story was very sweet and full of hope, with a happy, heartwarming ending. It really makes you feel good going into Christmas that people can set aside their differences and accept the love that someone gives you as a gift. God plays a role in this story through the advice of Father Barnabas, and I love Becca's nickname for Sam, Sir Knight of the Nativity.
