It's My Birthday and I Finished my First Book of 2015! #RachelleAyala #romance

Lately I've been having a thing for damaged heroes. There's Tyler Manning of A Father for Christmas (PTSD veteran), and Zach Spencer of Knowing Vera (amputee), but I had no idea how damaged Brock Carter was until I started writing his story.

Brock is a survivor of child abuse. I started this story more oriented toward Marcia Powers, the heroine, and her desperate motivation to hide her baby/child from Brock. But as I got to know Brock better, I really felt for him and the things he had to deal with, both growing up, as an adult survivor, and as a man who people suspect will repeat his father's sins.

I wrote his story in a week, from Saturday, January 3 to January 10, and it is now with beta readers and editor. I hope to bring it to you soon as a tribute to adult child abuse survivors, especially men.

Description:
Marcia Powers wants nothing to do with ballplayer Brock Carter, especially after she told him to go away and pursue his dreams. She has more than she can handle with an elderly father, a business to run, and a four-year-old daughter posing as her baby sister.

Brock Carter's back in town to rekindle his romance with Marcia, and this time, he's not letting her run him out of town. Marcia is unable to resist Brock, but determined to keep her secret.

Brock's already lost his heart to Marcia once. Will he lose every dream, including baseball, when he discovers the real reason Marcia sent him away?

Hope you all have a wonderful day!
